Duke unloading Quinn Cook leave UCLA scrambling, point guard

UCLA coach Ben Howland first six seasons he recruited Westwood and develop in the future, the invitation to tender for the export of NBA point guards and Jordan Farmar, Darren Collison, Jrue holiday, and Russell Westbrook.

Therefore, it is astonishingly so that he comes to his heir-apparent search to find in the working position made by crossing out.

Howland thought he found in UCLA's next great point guard, when a top 50 recruit Jerime Anderson arrived in 2008, but failed to live in expectation of our junior last season and he inherited the starting job Collison disappears. Due to the discovery of the elite point guard his top priority is still a little success in recruiting Howland has detected, not pry Ray McCallum Jr. ancestors Detroit, last spring and then lose Jahii Carson and Josiah Turner Arizona State and Arizona this past offseason.

The latest blow came in on Thursday, when the Oak Hill point guard Quinn Cook announced the ESPNU, that he is choosing the Duke UCLA, North Carolina and Villanova. Howland reportedly promised to Cook, first paragraph, of the guard work than I yet 6-foot-1-senior chose trimming Duke-backcourt that can contain both the combo guard Austin rivers and point guard Kyrie Irving, if any NBA-unlock extraordinary efforts to keep the Irving school year.

"(There are Irving) is not really a big factor," Cook said ESPNU."If he leaves are better placed to me to start but if he does not (I) have the opportunity to practice the best point guard, who intends to make me better against the nation. I look forward to seeing it as a win-win situation. "

Although it is still in some second-level class available at point of the prospects for the 2011 guard that UCLA may according to need, the Cook's decision to leave the Bruins heavily dependent on the development of the Anderson or ex-junior-college point guard Lazeric Jones. One of these two needs to develop to be starting point guard both UCLA's NATIONAL COLLEGIATE ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION competition, for the sake of clarity the hopes this season and the possibilities for regaining its position among the elite of the nation for production next year.

UCLA Anderson showed the good news is worrying in the context of the renewed work and improved the jumper this summer, and the possibilities as a strong Jones vilkkuivat-ball defender of the practice in the last couple of weeks.Still has to be a bit unnerving Howland has two players, a member of the crew of the floor to approving non-minor amendments to the most critical position.

Cook was presumably Duke lean weeks before yourself to the elite point protection Myck Kabongo unloaded in Texas on Saturday and showed that the Blue Devils were his best bets which gave the UCLA fans. [1] [2] glimmer of hope that the Duke take Kabongo and Cook signed by the Bruins, but it will remain in the polymer quickly.

Kabongo at Texas a & m University on Thursday, re-committed, perhaps a sign that the Duke was more interested in Cook all the time. [1] [2], and then Cook showed he all but not more than an official visit to the ' perception, Duke (a) a couple of weeks ago.

"My Coach K ratio was the best of all the buses," Cook said. "When you like college basketball, you like Duke has the opportunity to play on TV. every night and compete for the National Championship. "

Regardless of the burden of proof would have been filling the role Dodson belongs to the incoming I Doron Lamb and other returners Darius Miller and DeAndre Liggins. Miller has to be a favorite to earn one wing from playing the game of 21 minutes of positions in the last period, and the Lamb can start alongside him, if he proves that he is able to open the jump-shot down over it.

Request for transfer, his arrest is thought to be a more difficult choice made by Dodson's next move, but probably not If Wake Forest impossible. Tony Woods is received by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former AAU coach 30 requests information from talented big man who allegedly fractured spine of a woman, then vähälahjaisemmatkin 6-foot-7-wing with questionable attitude should probably draw some interest.
